Given below is one extended essay of 500 words and a short essay of approximately 150 words, on the topic.

Long Essay on Man in English 500 words

These essays are usually given to classes 7, 8, 9, and 10.

Man becomes man only among men. The phrase ideally means that a human child grows into a complete person only when he lives in a society with other men.

There have been many examples of children who have grown up in the woods, who have entirely lacked socially acceptable behavior. Two sisters, Amala and Kamala, were rescued from the woods and were kept under observation. They failed to survive in the social world. They did not know how to eat, drink, or talk like other men. Thus, to become a normative creature, a man needs to live in a society.

Men abide by certain norms and rules. Since the very beginning of our lives, we are told what is acceptable and approved by others. We develop a tendency to get approval from our peers and our surrounding people. Thus, we tend to follow a normative pattern and do what is ethical and moral.

Man is the only animal with a morality principle. Apart from knowing which behavior is appropriate for display, man can also distinguish between moral and immoral. While defining man, we emphasize on his virtues and vices. Every man has particular attributes, by which he becomes a moral being. He also has certain vices that threaten to overshadow his goodness. There is a constant battle in our minds between the righteous and the immoral, the social creature, and the savage.

The man was not always so civilized. Modern men are much more advanced in terms of technology and education. Primitive men lived in caves and hunted animals for survival. Among them, the concept of “Might is right” was moral, and only the strongest ones would win in the struggle for survival.

With time, the man understood the concept of peaceful co-existence. They realized that they could not live alone. They formed civilizations like the Indus Valley Civilization and the Mesopotamian Civilization. The man realized that there was a lot more to life than hunting and eating. He learned to make art. An example of one of the earliest forms of art and architecture is the Great Bath in Mohenjodaro. Man learned to build roads and houses. He began to wear clothes and eat cooked food.

Modern men are much more superior. They have learned the value of education and acceptance. They have moved to cities and are working in various professions. Modern men can reach out and connect to any person with a simple click. The evolution of technology and the IT revolution has dramatically changed our lives and made it a lot easier.
Yet, the fundamental values and virtues have not changed in men. Every man is different, physically, and psychologically. Even though every man has one nose, two eyes, and two ears, they are significantly different from each other.

Man is thus a unique and intellectual animal. He is the best creation of the universe and plays a significant role in sustaining the planet.

Short Essay on Man Made Disaster in English 150 words

These essays are usually given to classes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6.

Man is special in a lot of ways. Man is not only civilized but also intellectual. Man enhances the aesthetic presence and artistic value of this planet.

Man is the only animal that stays in well-built homes. Man has built houses and dams and has found easy ways to grow crops. He has not only found ways to cultivate fields but also to irrigate farmlands by artificial methods, in case of less rain.

Man is indeed a special and unique creature. He makes Earth habitable for others. He makes our planet a place where food and water are available to everyone. He has built canals and pipes to provide water to every household. Man has made machines, without which life would have been complicated for all of us.
