Long Essay on Causes of Global Warming Essay 500 Words in English

Below we have given a long essay on the causes of global warming of 500 words. This long essay on causes of global warming is suitable for students of classes 7,8,9 and 10, and also for competitive exam aspirants.

Global warming refers to the Earth becoming hotter and hotter by the day. The temperature of our planet is increasing because there are various greenhouse gases caught between the Ozone layer and the surface of the Earth, also known as the atmosphere. These greenhouse gases absorb heat and thus make the conditions of our planet insufferably hot. This also leads to dire consequences such as increased natural disasters, a rising sea level, increased droughts, etc.

It is no secret that human activities are the main reason why Earth is becoming hotter by the day. A lot of human activities are responsible for polluting the air with heat-entrapping greenhouse gases. Thus we must take responsibility for the same. It is our daily activities such as driving vehicles that emit carbon monoxide, allowing factories to send toxic fumes into the air, etc. that worsen the already grave global warming conditions.

Here are some of the causes of global warming that are very important to know. The burning of fossil fuels is one of the leading causes of global warming. This refers to not only the actual burning we do ourselves by driving vehicles, etc., but also refers to how we end up indirectly doing the same. Many countries burn gas or coal to produce electricity, which is severely harmful to the planet, as it releases toxic gases into the air. Industries also burn fossil fuels to power their production factories, which release harmful fumes and gases.

Another cause of global warming is agriculture and farming, which may be a bit of a surprise to us. Agriculture and farming can be harmful in terms of the gas methane that livestock like cows, sheep, goats, etc. produce. Methane is a greenhouse gas, and agriculturists and farmers generally keep livestock in large numbers, which means there is a lot of methane being produced there. Some fertilizers and pesticides also release nitrous oxide, which is another greenhouse gas.

Deforestation is one of the leading causes of global warming, and governments and authorities are partaking in the same in enormous numbers. It is quite common for human beings to go around chopping down forests, destroying them to make way for undertaking new developmental projects. When you cut down a tree, there is much less oxygen being produced in exchange for carbon dioxide. Thus deforestation facilitates the excess of carbon dioxide, one of the most pertinent greenhouse gases, into the air.

These are some of the causes of global warming, but they all cause global warming because of the two main reasons, which are the greenhouse effect and ignorance. All of the other causes of global warming are precursors to the greenhouse effect, which traps heat in gases and makes the planet hotter and hotter. As for the second reason, many people refuse to acknowledge the reality of global warming, or even if they do, they don’t make a conscious effort to live sustainably.

Essay on Causes of Global Warming

Short Essay on Causes of Global Warming 200 Words in English

Below we have given short essay on the causes of global warming of 200 words. Short essay on Causes of Global Warming Essay In English is for Classes 1,2,3,4,5 and 6.

Global warming is a phenomenon that is caused by heat getting trapped inside harmful gases around the surface of the Earth. These toxic gases are called greenhouse gases, and once the heat gets stuck inside them, it remains like that. The temperature of our planet keeps increasing, which can have very harmful effects on Earth and us. Some examples of greenhouse gases are carbon dioxide and nitrous oxide.

There are many causes of global warming other than the greenhouse effect. The biggest causes of global warming are deforestation, factories, electricity wastage, etc. Deforestation reduces the number of trees, which means there will be more carbon dioxide in the air. Factories produce a lot of greenhouse gases, and most electricity requires burning fossil fuels. Even this releases harmful gases which are not good for our planet. Animals on farms release methane, a greenhouse gas, which is why farming is also a cause of global warming.

One more cause of global warming is that people do not know what it is or how it affects us. This is why people keep doing more things that will add to global warming without them knowing it.
