December 26, 2020 by Prasanna

10 Lines on World Sickle Cell Day: Sickle cell anaemia is a particular disorder often recognized as sickle cell disease. The disease is a red blood cell illness in which a body doesn’t have enough healthy red blood cells that can carry oxygen through the body.

Usually, red blood cells can travel easily along the blood vessels. These are generally round in shape, but in sickle cell disease, the red blood cells are shaped like half or crescent moons often termed as pickles. These are usually sticky, and they get stuck in small vessels that block the blood flow and oxygen flow in the body. World Sickle Cell Day is celebrated on June 19th every year to spread awareness of the disease globally and let people know about the disease, prevention, and other treatments.
